The trip to Oswaldtwistle Mills is a lovely one. Oswaldtwistle Mills award-winning Shopping Village in Lancashire has something to amaze, charm and intrigue visitors of all ages. The former Weaving Mill has over 100 retailers all under one roof, 5 Restaurants, NEW Ice Cream Parlour, extensive Home, Lifestyle & Garden Centre, Mill Grounds, Aquatics Specialist, Textile and Heritage Museum and even it’s own Wildfowl Reserve.
It really is a shoppers delight, browse through the many retailers and why noy buy yourself some new clothing or something for the home. You will certainly not get bored with what it has to offer.
Lunch
We will take lunch at their one of their restaurants and sit down at our group reserved seating. Enjoy what they have on offer which will be a choice of Pie & Peas, Braised Steak or a scrumptious Roast dinner.
Guided Coach Tour of the Ribble Valley revealed
The tour guide will join us and we begin with a visit to the site of one of Roman Britains largest ports & forts at Ribchester. We travel through the beautiful Ribble Valley to picturesque Longridge nestling in the fells & valley of Bowland. We continue onto the stunning medieval village of Chipping, gateway to the residential home of Queen Elizabeth 11 in the ‘secret valley.’
Up on Jeffrey Hill we get a fantastic 360 degree panoramic view of the valley. We descend passing by Stoneyhurst, the breathtaking Tudor Hall of the Shireburns and now a leading Jesuit college, learning of the many famous former residents including Arthur Conan Doyle & JRR Tolkien.
The tour continues through Great Mitton where we see the 1000 year old mitton before our final destination of Whalley.
